Bamboo is a material that will keep best when stored dry, which is why enclosed toothbrush cups that may collect water are not recommended. We recommend that you keep your toothbrush in a open-air toothbrush holder or other dry area.
Cleaning the bristles
Rinse and care for your Humble Brush just as you would with a conventional toothbrush.
Your handle
Bamboo is a natural material that will change appearance over time. Your handle is made from bamboo, which is a natural material and the top portion of the bamboo which goes into your mouth may appear lighter and faded over time. This is normal and will not affect your brushing experience. Please reuse or compost the handle!
Reuse or compost the handle
The toothbrush handle will safely return to the soil within 6 months in a commercial or private composting bin. The handle can also be reused in your garden or in any other creative way.
Disposal of Humble Brush
The bristles and handle should be disassembled for proper disposal. Use a pair of pliers to remove the bristles from the head of the toothbrush. Doing so will remove a small metal staple that is used to clamp the bristles to the handle. Once the natural bamboo handle is free of bristles, it can either be disposed of in a composting bin or be reused. The bristles are very small and curbside recycling may not work. We recommend that you dispose of the bristles in your usual household waste or contact your local recycling facility to see if there’s a solution for recycling the bristles.
Disposal of the packaging
Our cardboard box can be recycled alongside regular cardboard. The paper bag inside the cardboard box is lined with cellulose which resembles plastic but is plant-based. The bag can be recycled with paper or disposed of in your household waste.
Toothpaste
Material
The tubes are made from plastic with a thinner web which entails that less recycled plastic has been used in the production. This entails a carbon footprint reduction of -34% as opposed to “normal” tubing technology. An eco-innovative and efficient packaging solution!
Disposal
The toothpaste is recyclable with the HDPE stream (recycling symbol #2).
Floss Picks
Disposal
The bag that holds the floss picks can be disposed of in your household waste. For the floss picks please contact your local recycling facility to see if there’s a recycling solution in place for PLA/PP mixed-material.
